The American Movie Channel insists
on spewing mindnumbing background information
on every movie it broadcasts:
anecdotes about the making of the film,
opinions of reknowned critics,
interviews with actors, directors and/or screenwriters
etcetera, etcetera, add nauseum.
Before showing `Under the Volcano`,
AMC let us in on a discussion with Nicholas Cage
who, in his own words,
"studied Albert Finney's role in 'Under the Volcano'
when preparing for his own role in 'Leaving Las Vegas'."
I wonder if the notion of slamming down a bunch of big, em-effing drinks
ever occurred to Mr. Cage as he prepared his syllabus for Bad Ass Drinking 101.
